Espresso lemonade? NESCAFÉ swears it’s summer’s best flavor combo

A new hack for your iced espresso routine

Lemonade and espresso are two delicious beverages that I happen to love. At the same time, I never would have thought to combine these two drinks in any way, shape, or form. Just hearing the term “espresso lemonade” has my mind running a thousand different ways. Before trying this in the evening, my mind runs down the “immediate no” path pretty quickly.

At the same time, I recognize that creative individuals across social media have come up with some flavor combinations I once doubted but now love (like the viral sweet potato cottage cheese bowl). But will espresso lemonade become the trendy new coffee flavor combo of the summer? NESCAFÉ thinks so. Admittedly, I’m curious about the hype around this new flavor combination. Is it one of those things that you try once and then never go back to? Or, is it one of those things you didn’t know you needed until you try it? If you’d like to try it for yourself, here’s what NESCAFÉ suggests you’ll need to create an espresso lemonade at home.

Tapping into the recent obsession with trendy coffee drinkers, NESCAFÉ is making it easier than ever to try the viral espresso lemonade at home. Recent data shows that the unexpected pairing of iced coffee (or iced espresso) and lemonade has already garnered over 91 million total views on TikTok. NESCAFÉ’s new espresso lemonade kit, dropping online for free on a first-come, first-served basis on three dates throughout June 13, includes:

  • One 300 mL bottle of NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate Black
  • Two 12 fl. oz. cans of Swoon Classic Lemonade
  • A recipe card to experience peak flavor every time
  • An additional 300mL bottle of NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate Sweet Vanilla to offer a sweeter take on espresso lemonade

Even if you can’t get your hands on the limited-edition espresso lemonade kit, it’s still easy enough to get in on this coffee trend at home. NESCAFÉ recommends making espresso lemonade by mixing two tablespoons of NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate Black with 12 oz. (1 can) Swoon Classic Lemonade in a glass with ice and stirring. The result is a chill, citrusy brew – all in a matter of seconds! For a slightly less caffeinated beverage, use a bit less NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate. For decaf drinkers, I think you could use a decaf cold brew concentrate to achieve the same refreshing drink without the caffeine.

“We’re always looking for fresh, unexpected ways to tap into trends that capture Gen Z’s attention. Whether it’s the latest espresso hack or customizing espresso-based drinks to fit every unique taste, it’s our commitment to stay at the forefront of innovation,” shared Felipe Acosta, NESCAFÉ Senior Brand Marketing Manager. “Our new, limited-time Espresso Lemonade kit, created in collaboration with Swoon, is the perfect example of this approach – delivering consumers the ingredients for a bold, refreshing combo that makes the summer season even sweeter. We’re eager to continue pushing boundaries, offering espresso lovers more ways to hack their iced espresso drinks both this summer and in the future.”

Sunshine in a cup: This coffee brand’s summer solstice collection is here
Three new ways to savor the summer season
Sightglass summer solstice

As longer days and golden hours take hold, coffee roaster Sightglass Coffee is ready for the summer season with the debut of its summer solstice collection. The limited-time seasonal blend, Summer Solstice 2025, is crafted for long days and golden light, with a medium roast and blackberry, guava, and honeysuckle notes. This year's fruit-forward blend combines silky, washed Ethiopian heirloom coffee from Worka Chelbessa and lush, naturally processed Bourbon from Huye, Rwanda. This medium roast coffee blend is perfect for slow summer mornings or sun-drenched afternoons and is available in three sizes: 12 ounces, 2lb, or 5 lb bags.

The summer solstice coffee can be purchased independently or in one of three brand-new, thoughtfully curated coffee sets to pair with the season’s slower pace and brighter mood. While these roasts can be enjoyed in any of your favorite brewing forms, Sightglass recommends trying them over ice to highlight the floral, tropical notes, using a simple iced V60 brewing method.

Lime lagers are having a moment—here’s why they’re perfect for summer
Lime lagers are nothing new, but they're trending
Troegs

The lime lager is nothing new. This style has been around for a number of years. While there’s no official “first lime lager”, Bud Light Lime was launched less than two decades ago in 2006 (and drinkers have been adding lime to Mexican lagers for as long as they've been brewed). And, while the style has been available to drinkers in the US for around twenty years, it’s having a bit of a moment this spring.

While many brands have been around for years, like Stone Buenaveza, Half Acre Green Torch, Founders On Cloud Nine, and Great Lakes Mexican Lager w/ Lime, there are a few new offerings this spring. These include the zesty, fresh, and refreshing Brooklyn Playa de Brooklyn and Tröegs Let The Sunshine In.
